Job description
GEMS FirstPoint School â The Villa â Dubai seeks a highly skilled School Data Manager to support school leadership by managing and analyzing school data to drive improved student outcomes, leading the development and implementation of data systems, supporting staff in using data effectively, and ensuring the MIS is accurate, efficient, and compliant. The role leads the management and development of the Schoolâs MIS; ensures accurate and timely input, analysis, and reporting of student progress, assessments, attendance, and examination data; provides high-quality, insightful data analysis and reporting to leadership, staff, and external stakeholders; line manages the Data Assistant/Data Executives and delivers staff training on MIS systems; works with teaching and leadership teams to develop tracking systems to improve student outcomes; maintains data security and ensures compliance with General Data Protection Regulation and school data policies; coordinates with external providers for system updates, troubleshooting, and enhancements; prepares and publishes termly and annual school reports via the VLE/parent portal; and provides data for school improvement planning, target setting, and performance evaluation. Essential capabilities include proven experience in a school or educational data management role; strong knowledge of MIS systems (SIMS, iSAMS, or similar); high proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data management/analysis tools including Phoenix, SIMS, FFT Aspire, and Power BI; experience producing detailed reports and high-level data presentations; strong understanding of school performance measures and assessment data; ability to lead, train, and support others in using MIS effectively; excellent communication and interpersonal skills; and ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines. Desirable capabilities include experience with exam and assessment modules in MIS; familiarity with school timetabling and student curriculum management; understanding of safeguarding and GDPR requirements in education; and ability to design bespoke data tracking tools for school departments. A UK-enhanced DBS or equivalent police check is a pre-requisite for all appointments.
