Job description
Grant Thornton UAE is seeking an Assistant Manager â External Audit to join its growing Audit and Assurance team in Dubai. The role involves leading a small, dynamic portfolio of clients, delivering high-quality audit services, and supporting client development initiatives. Youâll be responsible for managing audit engagements from planning through completion, coaching junior team members, and maintaining strong client relationships. This position offers the opportunity to work with high-profile clients including SMEs, financial institutions, and listed companies, and play a key part in expanding Grant Thorntonâs presence in the region.
Required skills
Key responsibilities
- Lead and manage a small portfolio of audit clients across diverse sectors.
- Provide clarity and insight on complex audit and accounting issues.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, delivering exceptional service.
- Assist senior team members with business development and proposals.
- Manage, coach, and motivate a team of Associates.
- Review team output and provide regular feedback and performance support.
- Ensure adherence to IFRS and regulatory audit standards.
- Conduct audits for financial services clients and manage group audits.
- Utilize audit software and Microsoft tools to execute audit plans efficiently.
- Support the brand-building efforts and represent the firm at industry events.
Experience & skills
- 4â5 years of external audit experience at a top international audit firm.
- Professional qualification such as ACA, ACCA, or CPA.
- Strong technical knowledge in IFRS, consolidation, and internal controls.
- Experience managing complex audits and team delegation.
- Proficient in audit software and Microsoft Office suite.
- Strong communication, analytical, and leadership skills.
- Ability to handle multiple client engagements independently.
- Willingness to travel and work extended hours when required.
