Job description
The Quantity Surveyor at Al Futtaim Contracting is responsible for performing MEP quantity surveying activities to support commercial and contractual requirements for construction projects. The role involves recording and monitoring site activities and costs, preparing take-offs and measured works, and managing interim valuations and final accounts. Responsibilities also include creating MEP tender documents, reconciling materials and executed works, preparing subcontractor payments, and maintaining commercial reports and QS documentation. The Quantity Surveyor collaborates with project managers and site teams, ensuring the company's financial interests are protected and QHSE policies are followed. Candidates must possess strong knowledge of contractual obligations, construction methods, and materials, along with excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills. A Bachelor's or Diploma in Quantity Surveying or Mechanical Engineering is required, with 5–7 years of experience in MEP construction roles.

Key responsibilities
- Record and monitor all site activities and costs expended on the project
- Prepare and summarize all measured works and take-offs from drawings
- Maintain schedule of submissions and responses for approvals, inspections, and variations
- Prepare interim valuations and final accounts for MEP works
- Prepare MEP tender documents, pricing tabulations, and cost summaries
- Reconcile monthly materials and executed works
- Prepare subcontractor payments and monitor site works
- Generate monthly commercial reports with the PM and site team
- Maintain all relevant MEP QS documentation and registers
- Coordinate with internal departments for project execution
- Adhere to QHSE policies and report incidents promptly
Experience & skills
- Hold a Bachelor or Diploma in Quantity Surveying or Mechanical Engineering
- Have 5–7 years of MEP experience in the construction industry
- Demonstrate excellent understanding of contractual obligations for company and subcontractors
- Possess proficient knowledge of construction methods and materials
- Exhibit strong verbal and written communication skills
- Show financial and commercial awareness
- Have strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
