Job description
The Field Service Engineer II role at Honeywell provides on-site technical installation, troubleshooting, testing & commissioning, programming, maintenance, and repair support for complex engineered systems. The position requires deep knowledge of Honeywell products and Building Management Systems (BMS), verification of system functional performance according to contracts, shop drawings, and sequences of operations, as well as testing, calibrating, and validating peripheral devices in line with applicable standards and codes including NFPA, ASHRAE, Global Building Codes, and Saudi Building Codes. Responsibilities include acting as a primary technical liaison during field service calls, performing diagnostics to resolve malfunctions, generating leads from contracted sites, estimating support, and supplying customer quotations for additional work. The role involves mentoring junior field engineers, documenting service activities, recommending improvements, and ensuring full compliance with safety and regulatory requirements. Knowledge of databases, ICT networks, servers, RAID configurations, PCs, and low current systems is essential. The work requires up to 20% travel and emphasizes adherence to Honeywell BA/HBS core business values, continuous improvement, innovative problem-solving, and staying current with updates related to products, projects, and maintenance practices.

- Provide technical expertise in testing, commissioning, engineering, programming, design maintenance, and repair of complex products and systems.
- Serve as primary technical liaison during field service calls and ensure timely issue resolution.
- Verify system functional performance in alignment with contract requirements, shop drawings, and sequence of operations.
- Test, calibrate, and verify systems and peripheral devices according to applicable standards and codes.
- Generate leads from contracted sites, estimate support needs, and supply quotes for adds and extras.
- Diagnose and resolve customer issues by identifying malfunctions and recommending corrective actions.
- Mentor junior field service engineers and provide training to customers on system usage and maintenance.
- Maintain detailed documentation of service work, equipment performance, and improvement recommendations.
- Ensure all work is performed in compliance with company safety standards and governmental regulations.
Experience & skills
- Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Electronics or Electrical Engineering or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
- Possess 5–8 years of field service engineering experience, including installations, testing, and commissioning of complex systems.
- Have mandatory BMS experience, with Honeywell BMS preferred; additional low current systems knowledge is an advantage.
- Demonstrate working knowledge and certifications related to NFPA, ASHRAE standards, and Global and Saudi Building Codes.
- Show understanding of databases, ICT networks, servers, RAID systems, and PC hardware.
- Be able to travel up to 20% as required.
- Exhibit strong problem-solving and technical diagnostic abilities.
- Demonstrate proficiency using diagnostic tools and software relevant to supported products.
- Maintain ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities effectively.
