Job description
The Technical Project Manager (IT Services & Open Source Technologies) role at Red Hat in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia is responsible for managing IT-based services projects across KSA, Bahrain, Kuwait, Jordan, and Iraq within the EMEA Services team, overseeing the full project lifecycle from initiation through delivery and closure. The role involves coordinating cross-functional and multidisciplinary teams, managing project planning, scheduling, monitoring, and reporting activities, and establishing metrics for measuring key project criteria. The position requires ownership of project economics including costs, operational budgets, staffing requirements, resource allocation, and risk management while ensuring adherence to legally binding requirements and handling scope and change management issues. The candidate will develop project control solutions and reporting procedures, integrate and utilize project management tools, and contribute to project proposals, bids, contracts, estimates, and schedules. Responsibilities include facilitating status review meetings, monitoring subcontractors, ensuring timely submission of timesheets, and managing operational plan changes. The role requires applying industry-standard project management methodologies including Project Management Institute (PMI) and PMP methodologies, Red Hat’s services project management methodology, and practices related to systems and software development and product development. The position also involves coaching and training project teams on procedures, processes, and methodologies, supporting process improvement initiatives, and promoting adoption of project management fundamentals. Preferred expertise includes cloud technologies, middleware, open source technologies, Linux, containers, and Kubernetes, aligning with Red Hat’s enterprise open source software solutions portfolio.

Key responsibilities
- Guide project planning, scheduling, monitoring, and reporting activities for IT services projects from initiation through delivery and closure
- Manage project requirements, scope, and change management while ensuring adherence to legally binding and contractual requirements
- Establish and monitor project metrics, budgets, staffing requirements, resources, and risk management to control project economics
- Develop and implement project control solutions, reporting procedures, and integrate project management tools for tracking progress
- Collaborate with management on project proposals, bids, contracts, estimates, and schedules while contributing to estimation processes
- Coordinate cross-functional teams and subcontractors while facilitating status review meetings with stakeholders and customers
- Apply PMI and PMP project management methodologies along with Red Hat’s services project management framework to deliver projects
- Train, coach, and advise project team members on processes, procedures, and methodologies to achieve project goals and resolve technical or operational issues
Experience & skills
- Demonstrate 4–6 years of experience in project management roles managing IT-based projects
- Show proven record of successfully managing complex projects and multicultural or multidisciplinary teams
- Exhibit expertise in project planning, scheduling, monitoring, reporting, and project lifecycle management
- Demonstrate knowledge of scope management, change management, risk management, and project control methodologies
- Possess experience contributing to process improvement initiatives and project estimation activities
- Demonstrate strong understanding of PMI and PMP methodologies or equivalent project management frameworks
- Show ability to work across diverse teams and internal stakeholders while maintaining attention to detail in fast-paced environments
- Exhibit strong analytical, presentation, and business judgment skills
- Demonstrate fluency in English with excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Possess knowledge or experience with cloud technologies, middleware, open source, Linux, and Kubernetes as a preferred qualification
