Job description
The Manager – External Communications role within the Strategy & Development function at Dubai Airports is responsible for leading the organisation’s media and communications strategy to strengthen corporate positioning, credibility, and stakeholder trust across regional and international audiences. The role delivers senior-level leadership across media relations, crisis communications, government programme messaging, internal communications capability building, and stakeholder engagement. The position involves providing strategic media counsel, managing targeted pitching and story placement, and developing and maintaining strong relationships with regional and international media outlets, with a strong focus on UAE and GCC media landscapes. The role manages and responds to media enquiries using approved, well-researched messaging that aligns with corporate standards and policies. A significant responsibility includes leading Arabic-language content development, drafting speeches for HH and senior leadership, producing and reviewing news and editorial content, ensuring high-quality translations, and managing the distribution of approved communications materials. The role oversees social media and integrated media campaigns, including press conferences and media tours, supervises the Media Coordinator, manages event logistics, prepares spokespersons, and handles on-site media engagement to support awareness, acquisition, and revenue objectives within a fast-paced aviation environment.

- Lead the external media and communications strategy, including crisis communications, government programme messaging, internal capability building, and stakeholder engagement initiatives.
- Provide senior-level media relations leadership through strategic planning, targeted pitching, and advising on effective story placement.
- Develop, manage, and maintain strong working relationships with regional and international media representatives.
- Manage and respond to media enquiries using approved, well-researched messaging in alignment with corporate policies and Dubai Airports’ standards.
- Lead Arabic-language communications by drafting speeches for HH and senior leadership and producing, reviewing, and approving editorial and news content.
- Ensure accuracy, quality, and consistency of Arabic and translated communications materials prior to distribution.
- Oversee social media activities and integrated media campaigns to support corporate visibility and engagement objectives.
- Plan and manage press conferences, media tours, and related communications events.
- Supervise the Media Coordinator and provide guidance on daily media operations and content execution.
- Manage event logistics, spokesperson preparation, and on-site media engagement to drive awareness, acquisition, and revenue outcomes.
Experience & skills
- Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Communications or a closely related academic discipline.
- Possess 3–5 years of professional experience in a communications role, preferably within an airport, aviation, or agency environment.
- Demonstrate relevant experience across public relations, advertising, publishing, and social media platforms.
- Exhibit excellent business-level written and spoken Arabic suitable for diverse audiences.
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of regional media landscapes, particularly within the UAE and GCC.
- Maintain established media contacts and relationships across regional and international outlets.
- Demonstrate experience managing media relations, content development, and external communications in a fast-paced organizational environment.
