Job description
Principal Static Equipment Design Engineer role focused on mechanical and static equipment engineering for oil & gas, hydrocarbon, refinery, offshore, and infrastructure projects. The role involves leading FEED and detailed engineering design of complex static equipment including pressure vessels, heat exchangers, storage tanks, columns, and reactors. The engineer is responsible for ensuring design integrity, technical accuracy, and compliance with industry codes such as ASME Section VIII Divisions 1 and 2, while applying value engineering principles to optimize cost and performance. The position includes leading engineering teams of up to 10 mechanical engineers and designers, developing discipline work plans, reviewing equipment datasheets and specifications, and performing advanced technical studies such as compressor configuration, driver selection, life cycle cost analysis, RAM studies, and material handling studies. The role requires evaluating technical bids, reviewing packaged equipment designs, and providing expert technical guidance on static equipment design, including internals of columns and reactors. Additional responsibilities include materials selection, corrosion control strategies, and supporting project execution within budget and schedule constraints. The engineer collaborates with project management, clients, and multidisciplinary engineering teams to ensure successful delivery of medium to large-scale projects in oil & gas and petrochemical sectors.
