Job description
Responsible for overseeing all aspects of collections and recovery activities for the Business Banking Credit portfolio in Sharjah, ensuring optimal recoveries while minimizing operational, financial, and reputational risks. The Manager, Collections Support develops and implements a comprehensive collections strategy aligned with operational policies, regulatory frameworks, and Consumer Protection Regulations (CPR). The role involves conducting portfolio analysis, including Accounts Coverage Ratios and recovery metrics, performing cost-benefit analysis, and mitigating operational risks. The position requires maintaining audit-ready processes, collaborating with internal stakeholders such as Legal, Risk, and Finance, and managing external recovery agencies to ensure compliance, SLA adherence, and alignment with the bankās strategy. The Manager streamlines collections workflows, optimizes resources, oversees Debt Counsellor functions, implements early intervention strategies, monitors case quality and turnaround times, and fosters continuous improvement. Leadership responsibilities include setting performance targets, guiding, coaching, and developing the collections team, while maintaining compliance and accountability across all collections operations.

- Develop and oversee implementation of a comprehensive collections and recovery strategy across all recovery activities
- Ensure processes are aligned with operational policies, regulatory frameworks, and Consumer Protection Regulations (CPR)
- Devise Champion Challenger programs and perform Cost Vs Benefit analysis to drive higher resolution rates across products and buckets
- Analyze portfolio performance including Accounts Coverage Ratios (ACR) and recovery metrics to enhance collection efficiency
- Break down loss forecasts into collections roll rates and recovery rates for actionable insights
- Conduct cost-benefit analysis and risk assessments to identify improvement areas and mitigate operational risks
- Collaborate with Finance and Collections teams to provide risk input on annual capacity requirements and budgets (FTE / Incentive budgets)
- Report portfolio performance to senior management and recommend areas of concern or improvement
- Highlight key portfolio trends and recommend corrective actions to improve recovery rates
- Maintain audit-ready processes through robust controls and documentation aligned with internal and external standards
- Adhere to risk management policies and escalation procedures to ensure timely resolution of concerns
- Manage external recovery agencies ensuring compliance, regulatory adherence, SLA performance, and strategic alignment
- Evaluate agency performance regularly and implement corrective actions to optimize recovery outcomes
- Collaborate with legal teams to manage accounts under ongoing or pending legal action
- Implement appropriate actions and controls for high-risk accounts to minimize exposure
- Ensure adherence to operational risk management frameworks and Consumer Protection Regulations
- Streamline collections processes, automate workflows, and implement innovative solutions to enhance performance
- Optimize resource allocation and maintain turnaround time (TAT) standards for collections activities
- Implement preāemptive calling and early-intervention strategies to reduce flow rates and improve customer outcomes
Experience & skills
- Bachelorās degree or higher in Mathematics, Computer Science, or Statistics
- 6+ years of experience in collections function across various levels, preferably within banks
- Experience in planning capacity for collections teams
- Proven experience managing collections portfolios, performing portfolio analysis, and preparing MIS reports
- Strong understanding of banking operations, policies, and procedures
- Knowledge of UAE Central Bank and other statutory guidelines
- Experience with risk management in collections and recovery activities
- Ability to manage and develop collections teams effectively while maintaining compliance and operational standards
