Job description
The Vice President β Insurance at Aldar in Abu Dhabi is responsible for leading and managing the insurance function to support internal stakeholders across the organization. This senior role requires independently assessing risk, developing and implementing risk transfer strategies, and overseeing the full insurance lifecycle, including renewals, claims, contracts, and premiums. The VP ensures compliance with internal guidelines, negotiates indemnity provisions in contracts, and serves as a trusted advisor to businesses on insurance matters. The role involves close coordination with brokers, insurers, loss adjusters, surveyors, and internal teams, while optimizing insurance strategies for efficiency and cost-effectiveness.

Key responsibilities
- Devise and implement insurance renewal strategies for optimization
- Manage insurance program cycle: strategy, data collection, issuance, terms finalization, and documentation
- Oversee claims cycle: recording, advice, follow-up, and closure
- Advise on budgets and manage premium payments
- Conduct risk assessment and set indemnity limits per internal guidelines
- Review, negotiate, and draft indemnity clauses in contracts
- Provide insurance advice throughout end-to-end contract lifecycle
- Serve as insurance advisor across business functions
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders including brokers, insurers, loss adjusters, and surveyors
Experience & skills
- 10+ years of insurance experience, including 3+ years with a broker, insurance company, real estate, or large company in MENA
- 4+ years managerial experience
- Extensive knowledge of major general insurance lines, especially property and liability
- Bachelorβs degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Law, or equivalent
- Professional insurance certification (ACII, CPCU, or equivalent)
- Comprehensive understanding of risk assessment and quantification
- Hands-on experience managing multiple insurance lines
- Adequate knowledge of contract law and indemnity provisions
- Strong independent working, decision-making, negotiation, and issue resolution skills
