Job description
The Executive Director, Investor Sales at Standard Chartered Bank is responsible for driving revenue growth through strategic engagement with investor clients across MENAP, including Sovereign Wealth Funds, Asset Managers, Pension Funds, and Insurance Companies. The role emphasizes cross-asset and cross-border collaboration, and requires strong leadership, senior-level client engagement, and in-depth knowledge of macro financial market products like FX and Rates. As a people leader, the role supports team development, strategic client planning, and regulatory compliance while also managing high-level investor relationships and originating new client opportunities to grow financial market revenues.

Key responsibilities
- Drive growth of the investor business covering sovereign wealth funds, asset managers, pension funds, and insurance companies.
- Support and deepen existing institutional client relationships across macro products such as FX and Rates.
- Develop and execute cross-asset strategies tailored to client needs and risk appetite.
- Market and sell financial market products in coordination with relationship managers and product teams.
- Deliver daily flow business while meeting all standards and procedures.
- Originate new client opportunities and manage financial market relationships globally.
- Engage FM Structuring teams for optimal client risk solutions and deal facilitation.
- Ensure adherence to trading limits and regulatory frameworks, including best execution and order handling.
- Provide leadership to direct reports and foster a culture of performance and collaboration.
- Contribute to team development through coaching, training, and succession planning.
- Maintain client account plans and track relationship performance.
- Align with financial market themes and initiatives, ensuring risk alignment.
- Coordinate with stakeholders including coverage teams, trading, structuring, and compliance.
- Act as Front Office Supervisor and maintain compliance with supervisory responsibilities.
- Drive strategic change initiatives and ensure operational readiness for service delivery.
Experience & skills
- Bachelorās degree minimum; additional training in regulatory and role-specific development preferred.
- Proven experience in investor sales or institutional client management within a global financial market environment.
- Strong network and relationships with senior decision-makers in sovereign wealth funds, asset managers, and similar investor groups.
- Deep understanding of financial markets, macro products (FX, Rates), and structured instruments.
- Strong commercial acumen and cross-selling abilities.
- Experience with financial risk, trading compliance, and client onboarding procedures.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and develop teams in a performance-driven culture.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Fluent in English; additional regional language skills are a plus.
