Job description
Students with special educational needs or disabilities at Doha British School need provision that is planned, consistent and properly led, and this SENCo Lead position at the Ain Khaled campus sets that direction. Strategic development of SEN policy and provision sits with you, as does the day-to-day running of the policy and the coordination of support for individual pupils. Colleagues rely on your professional guidance, and close work with parents and outside agencies is routine. High expectations and challenging targets apply to both the team and students. Systems and procedures need to be in place so that every student in the cohort progresses consistently. A programme of professional development and practical support helps strengthen teaching across the school. Teaching experience across IGCSE, AS/A Level and the IB is expected alongside the leadership role. The package includes a tax-free salary, furnished accommodation with utilities, school fee discounts for two dependants, an annual flight allowance, medical and life insurance, and CPD through Evidence Based Education. A PGCE or QTS, ideally with the National Award for SEN Coordination, is required, and the start date is immediate or January 2027 at the latest.
