Job description
Hill International is hiring a Project Design Director for a major program in Riyadh, KSA. The role requires overseeing all design-related activities through pre- and post-contract stages and involves full leadership of the design team. The ideal candidate will interface with various stakeholders, manage consultants and contractors, oversee technical deliverables, and drive design quality and innovation throughout the master development lifecycle. This is a senior-level position for a design professional with extensive mixed-use project experience and a strong leadership record in fast-paced environments.

Key responsibilities
- Provide overall design management leadership for the program during pre- and post-contract stages
- Lead and manage the full design team and report directly to the Program Director
- Manage stakeholders, consultants, and principals across the program
- Interface with internal and external stakeholders to ensure optimum outcomes
- Conduct design management and reviews of master development projects
- Prepare scopes of service and evaluate tenders
- Oversee multiple consultants and contractors, as well as Hillās internal design and technical teams
- Identify scope gaps and propose corrective actions promptly
- Manage the RFI process and ensure timely responses from the client
- Perform redline reviews during all design stages and suggest value engineering improvements
- Contribute to urban planning and product design development
Experience & skills
- Bachelorās degree in Architecture
- Minimum 25 years of post-graduate experience
- At least 12 years working on large mixed-use construction schemes
- Minimum 5 years in a Senior Manager or Director role
- Chartered Member of RIBA or similar
- PMC background required
- PMP, CIOB or equivalent certification preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Fluent in English
- Ability to perform under pressure and meet tight deadlines
