Job description
The QRM Director at Grant Thornton UAE leads initiatives that promote quality and manage risk across the firm. The role involves implementing the System of Quality Management (ISQM 1), overseeing risk mitigation strategies, managing AML compliance, and liaising with key regulators such as DFSA, ADGM, MOE, and PCAOB. The Director will deliver internal quality reviews, support external inspections, provide technical IFRS and ISA guidance, and collaborate with service line leaders to integrate risk management practices into client services. The role also includes training delivery, strategic planning support, and insurer liaison.

Key responsibilities
- Leading the implementation and ongoing monitoring of the System of Quality Management (ISQM 1)
- Overseeing firm-wide risk management processes, including risk identification, mitigation, and reporting
- Managing the firmās AML compliance framework and ensure alignment with UAE regulations
- Liaising with UAE-based and global regulators (e.g., DFSA, ADGM, MOE, PCAOB) on compliance matters and regulatory inspections
- Conducting internal quality reviews and supporting external inspections
- Providing technical guidance on IFRS, ISAs, and the IESBA Code of Ethics
- Collaborating with service line leaders to embed quality and risk considerations into client engagements
- Developing and delivering training programs on quality, ethics, and risk management
- Supporting the National Head of QRM in strategic initiatives and reporting to the firmās leadership
- Liaising with insurers on professional indemnity and other requirements
Experience & skills
- Professional Qualification: ACCA, ICAEW, CPA, or equivalent
- Minimum 10 years in audit and risk management, with at least 3 years in a managerial or leadership role
- Prior experience in a large professional services firm is mandatory
- Strong command of IFRS, ISAs, IESBA Code of Ethics, and UAE corporate laws and regulations
- Experience dealing with UAE and international regulators
- Excellent leadership, communication, analytical, and stakeholder management skills
