Job description
Zarafshan WPP sits at the center of this Biodiversity Manager role, based in Abu Dhabi or Zarafshan, Uzbekistan, and covering biodiversity work across every workstream on the project. You lead the Biodiversity Management Plan implementation, keeping it aligned with relevant standards throughout the project lifecycle. Plant species triggering critical habitat criteria fall under a Biodiversity Action Plan that you prepare, implement, monitor, and report on directly. Bird fatalities of target species trigger an offset plan too, one you lead from preparation through monitoring and reporting. External consultants carry out the biodiversity surveys, but you manage that work, prepare the Terms of Reference, lead the technical side of the tender process, and monitor execution of bird population surveys in the IBA and bat population surveys near the site. Survey results get analyzed and fed back into updates for the Biodiversity Management Plan whenever needed. You also provide technical ornithological advice on installing, configuring, and maintaining the IdentiFlight Shutdown on Demand system, while supporting Masdar's wider portfolio management assets on biodiversity aspects and joining corporate biodiversity initiatives.
