Job description
The AI Product Expert for Utilities at SAP Dubai focuses on designing, implementing, and delivering AI-driven solutions for the utilities sector, working directly with customers in KSA. The role involves identifying high-impact AI use cases within SAP landscapes, including S/4HANA and SAP BTP, translating business challenges into technical designs, and leading end-to-end deployment cycles from PoC to production. The position requires hands-on experience with software engineering (Python, Java, TypeScript), AI/ML concepts, and utilities domain processes such as Meter to Cash and Quote to Cash. The expert collaborates with global SAP product and engineering teams, produces reusable accelerators, and drives adoption in real business processes. Strong knowledge of utilities market trends, SAP industry portfolio, and end-to-end customer engagement is critical. The role combines technical expertise with customer-facing responsibilities, emphasizing measurable business impact, scalable AI solutions, and innovation across utilities operations.
Required skills
Key responsibilities
- Engage directly with Utilities customers in KSA to discover, prioritize, and frame AI use cases within SAP S/4HANA and SAP BTP environments
- Design and implement end-to-end AI solutions, including data pipelines, model selection/integration, and UI/process integration
- Run agile development cycles from Proof of Concept to pilot to production, gather user feedback, and drive adoption in business processes
- Act as the liaison between Riyadh Lab customers and global SAP Product & Engineering teams, providing insights on requirements, gaps, and patterns for roadmap input
- Produce reusable accelerators such as reference architectures, templates, and best practices to scale AI solutions across the region
- Translate business challenges into technical designs and deliver production-ready AI solutions aligned with operational needs
- Lead discovery workshops, deliver demos, and explain technical trade-offs in business terms to stakeholders and partners
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, product, and delivery roles to ensure seamless implementation and customer satisfaction
Experience & skills
- Strong software engineering experience in Python, Java, or TypeScript
- Hands-on experience with SAP BTP and SAP S/4HANA integrations
- Proficiency in AI and ML concepts, including data modelling, APIs, forecasting, classification, and copilots/assistants
- Deep understanding of utilities industry processes such as Meter to Cash and Quote to Cash
- Experience in customer- and partner-facing roles, including discovery workshops, demos, and stakeholder management
- Ability to translate complex business challenges into scalable AI solutions
- Forward-deployed mindset with high ownership, ambiguity tolerance, and collaboration with global teams
- Familiarity with SAP industry portfolio and utilities market evolution
