The role is part of Tamara’s Builders Internship & Co-Op program designed for students seeking hands-on experience in a high-performance FinTech organization. The position supports the Finance team in preparing regulatory and prudential reports in accordance with IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards) and ensuring timely submissions to regulatory authorities in collaboration with Compliance and Finance teams. The role involves validating financial data to ensure accuracy, completeness, and regulatory compliance, as well as assisting in tax compliance activities including VAT, corporate income tax, and withholding tax calculations and documentation. The intern contributes to monthly reconciliations and tax provision working papers to ensure accurate financial reporting and adherence to regulatory requirements. The position also supports initiatives aimed at improving reporting processes, strengthening internal controls, and enhancing operational efficiency through workflow documentation and process improvement identification. The role requires strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office tools. It emphasizes collaboration with cross-functional teams, a proactive mindset, and a strong sense of accountability for delivering accurate and timely regulatory outputs. Key responsibilities
- Assist in preparing regulatory and prudential financial reports in accordance with IFRS standards.
- Support timely submission of regulatory reports by coordinating with Compliance and Finance teams.
- Validate financial data to ensure accuracy, completeness, and regulatory compliance.
- Assist in VAT, corporate income tax, and withholding tax calculations and documentation.
- Support monthly reconciliations and tax provision working papers for compliance purposes.
- Contribute to ensuring adherence to regulatory tax requirements and financial reporting standards.
- Support initiatives to improve reporting processes and strengthen internal financial controls.
- Assist in documenting workflows and identifying process efficiency improvements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional Finance and Compliance teams to support reporting accuracy.
- Maintain high standards of accuracy and attention to detail in all regulatory reporting activities.
Experience & skills
- Have a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Have 0–2 years of experience in finance, accounting, or regulatory reporting roles.
- Possess a foundational understanding of IFRS and financial reporting standards.
- Demonstrate familiarity with tax concepts including VAT, corporate income tax, and withholding tax.
- Exhibit strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications.
- Demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Possess excellent communication skills in English and Arabic.
- Exhibit strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and accuracy in financial work.
