Job description
The Senior Treasury Analyst at McDermott is responsible for enhancing treasury discipline and delivering best-in-class financial management for the organization. This role involves coordinating with corporate treasury, project accounting, commercial/bid teams, and banks to manage bank guarantees, credit lines, cash flow, and treasury reporting. The analyst ensures SOX compliance, oversees petty cash reimbursement claims, reviews treasury receipt journals, and prepares monthly and quarterly forecasts of bank guarantees. The position includes maintaining healthy banking relations, identifying opportunities for new credit facilities, and managing ad hoc treasury requirements. The role requires advanced knowledge of treasury products and systems, the ability to work independently and collaboratively, and the capacity to manage complex financial operations and stakeholder relationships across multiple organizational levels.
Required skills
Key responsibilities
- Coordinate between commercial/bids team and corporate treasury for review and approval of bank guarantee text formats for bid submissions
- Arrange bank support letters from corporate treasury or banks as required and liaise for Bank Guarantee issuance
- Reach out to prospect relationship banks to identify opportunities for new credit lines and ensure regular updates with existing banks for facility renewals
- Maintain banking relationships, resolve issues related to receipts, payments, and bank guarantees, and manage effective cash flow by funding accounts periodically
- Prepare and maintain monthly lists of outstanding bank guarantees by project, entity, and facility, and prepare quarterly bank guarantee forecasts with project teams
- Review and sign off petty cash reimbursement claims in line with company policies and review treasury receipt journals monthly to ensure SOX compliance
- Adhere to ad hoc treasury requirements and provide expertise in treasury products and systems
- Collaborate with corporate treasury, project accounting teams, commercial teams, banks, and tax groups to ensure smooth treasury operations
Experience & skills
- Qualified Chartered Accountant or equivalent qualification from an internationally recognized institute
- 3–6 years of relevant post-qualification experience in treasury or corporate finance
- Strong understanding of banking functions and corporate treasury operations
- Hands-on experience with treasury products and systems
- Ability to multi-task and manage tight reporting schedules
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to provide technical expertise and undertake projects in treasury management
