Job description
The Business Development Manager is responsible for driving growth by identifying new business opportunities, promoting Islamic banking products, and supporting ADIB's cross-sell initiatives. Based in Abu Dhabi, the role requires active engagement with both internal and external stakeholders to increase product penetration, provide exceptional client service, and support strategic revenue objectives. The ideal candidate will be adept at market research, contract management, and maintaining long-term client relationships that align with ADIBās values.
Required skills
Key responsibilities
- Work closely with Wholesale Banking Group and stakeholders to explore business potential with corporate clients
- Proactively arrange and conduct business meetings with prospective clients to promote retail banking products and services
- Conduct market research to identify new opportunities, customer needs, and market trends
- Track and manage the contract and agreement process, ensuring timely client onboarding
- Maintain detailed records of sales, revenue, and KPIs to support strategic planning
- Promote ADIB products continuously, addressing client concerns and objectives proactively
- Provide market intelligence on competitors to help shape competitive offerings
- Collaborate with internal teams to tailor propositions meeting specific client needs in line with Islamic banking principles
- Increase product penetration within assigned portfolio and route leads through Lead Management team
- Ensure fast lead conversion in coordination with Customer Excellency team
- Deliver excellent customer service, resolving complaints to maintain satisfaction and loyalty
- Propose product campaigns and policy enhancements relevant to the portfolio
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with new and existing clients to ensure long-term alignment with the bankās objectives
Experience & skills
- 3-5 years experience in business development, preferably within banking
- Experience in customer support and relationship management
- Proficiency in English; Arabic is a plus
- Deep understanding of Islamic banking and market dynamics
- Strong ability to build trust with clients and stakeholders
- Excellent time management and multitasking abilities
- Exceptional communication and negotiation skills
- Leadership experience and business growth track record
- Critical thinking and problem-solving capabilities
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite and reporting tools
- Bachelorās degree in business administration or related field
- Masterās degree or certification in Islamic finance is an advantage
