Job description
The Associate in Global Investment Research – Equity Research MENA Non-Financials is responsible for supporting coverage of companies across non-financial sectors within the MENA region. The role involves conducting in-depth company and industry analysis, building and maintaining financial models, publishing research reports, and generating actionable investment insights for institutional clients. The Associate collaborates closely with Equity Sales, Sales-Traders, and Traders, while maintaining relationships with covered companies and facilitating corporate access events. This position requires strong analytical capabilities, expertise in financial statement analysis and valuation frameworks, deep understanding of MENA equity markets, and the ability to communicate insights clearly to both internal and external stakeholders. The role also requires obtaining FCA registration within the first six months of employment.

Key responsibilities
- Assist in covering companies within MENA Non-Financial sectors by conducting fundamental analysis and evaluating industry trends and competitive positioning.
- Build, maintain, and regularly update detailed financial models for covered companies, incorporating earnings forecasts, valuation frameworks, and sensitivity analyses.
- Publish regular industry and company-specific research reports, delivering clear investment theses and recommendations to clients.
- Interact with external institutional investors, responding to inquiries and providing insights to support their investment strategies.
- Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders including Equity Sales, Sales-Traders, and Traders to ensure alignment on market views and client engagement.
- Manage relationships with covered companies, gathering relevant financial and strategic information to enhance research output.
- Facilitate client-corporate interaction through forums, roadshows, conferences, and investor events.
- Respond to ad hoc analysis requests from clients and internal teams in a timely and accurate manner.
- Monitor macroeconomic developments, sector trends, and regulatory changes impacting MENA equity markets.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements, including obtaining FCA registration within the required timeframe.
Experience & skills
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in Equity Research, asset management, investing, consulting, or a closely related analytical role.
- Strong knowledge of MENA equity markets; sector expertise in Commodities, Healthcare, or Consumer sectors is advantageous.
- Thorough understanding of financial statement analysis and equity valuation methodologies (DCF, trading comparables, precedent transactions, etc.).
- Advanced financial modeling skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data accurately.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex ideas clearly and concisely.
- Meticulous attention to detail, strong analytical capabilities, and effective organizational skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindset to work effectively within a team-oriented research environment.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and deliver high-quality output under pressure.
- FCA registration required (to be obtained within the first six months of employment).
