Job description
The Associate Director – Project Controls role is based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and operates within Mace, a construction and consultancy firm delivering major mixed-use developments including sports, entertainment, arts, and infrastructure projects. This senior position is accountable for PMO and project controls performance on assigned commissions, leading integrated teams across multiple project phases. The role involves designing and implementing effective PMO and project controls frameworks and strategies, directing project teams on cost, schedule, risk, change, and reporting processes, and overseeing governance, baseline management, and quantitative risk analysis. The Associate Director acts as a trusted advisor and subject matter expert to client organizations, liaising with clients, consultants, and contractors, while championing service excellence, innovation, and net zero carbon transition. The position requires mentoring and managing junior PMO and project controls resources to build team capability and ensure consistent high-quality delivery within a major programme context in Saudi Arabia.

- Account for PMO and project controls performance on assigned commissions and ensure adherence to delivery standards.
- Design and implement effective PMO and project controls frameworks and strategies to optimize project governance and outcomes.
- Lead and advise clients, consultants, contractors, and internal teams on all PMO and project controls matters.
- Direct project teams on cost management, schedule management, risk management, change management, and reporting processes.
- Oversee governance, baseline management, and quantitative risk analysis delivery to ensure project alignment with objectives.
- Mentor and manage junior PMO and project controls staff to build team capability and performance.
- Champion service excellence, innovation, and the net zero carbon transition within project delivery.
- Act as a trusted advisor and subject matter expert to client organizations on project controls and programme management.
Experience & skills
- Hold a degree qualification in a relevant subject.
- Demonstrate major project or programme delivery experience.
- Possess professional membership or Chartered status relevant to project management or project controls.
- Meet necessary visa requirements to work in Saudi Arabia.
