Job description
The OutSystems Architect at Virtusa is responsible for designing and developing solutions that optimize business processes and empower employees and customers. The role involves working closely with business teams to understand requirements, designing application architectures, and collaborating with various departments such as QA, Product Strategy, and Sales. The position also includes re-architecting legacy code, troubleshooting application issues, and ensuring alignment with business goals and technical standards. Strong communication, leadership, and mentoring abilities are required, along with a deep technical background in OutSystems and supporting technologies.

- Understand business requirements and align solution design to the business vision.
- Present solutions effectively and demonstrate strong negotiation skills.
- Lead cross-functional teams in architecture, development, QA, and services.
- Design applications using OutSystems canvas concept.
- Troubleshoot application defects and optimize existing systems.
- Re-architect legacy code into scalable, modern designs.
- Follow defined release cycles and deadlines.
- Support integration with third-party systems using REST/SOAP APIs.
- Manage data modeling and scripting with Oracle or SQL databases.
- Oversee project planning, risk management, and milestone control.
- Promote DevOps practices, including CI/CD integration.
- Mentor and motivate team members; build a strong development culture.
- Drive hackathons, technical events, and innovation initiatives.
Experience & skills
- 12+ years of relevant software industry experience.
- Certified OutSystems professional.
- Proficiency in OutSystems architecture and enterprise application development.
- Experience with OutSystems Web, Mobile, and Front-End development.
- Strong understanding of C#, .NET, ASP.NET, and web technologies.
- Integration experience with REST/SOAP APIs.
- Expertise in OOAD, OOP, UML, TDD, and BDD.
- Familiarity with HTML5, CSS, JavaScript frameworks.
- Knowledge of DevOps, OutSystems platform, CI/CD pipelines.
- Data modeling experience with Oracle/SQL and PLSQL scripting.
- Experience in Agile methodology and project management.
- Strong leadership, coaching, and mentoring background.
- Excellent English communication skills (written and spoken).
