Job description
The Cluster Director of Marketing for Riyadh Marriott Hotel shapes and executes the full marketing strategy for clustered hotel operations, ensuring alignment between marketing and sales functions. The role requires developing strategic plans that incorporate budget considerations, site goals, forecasts, and pricing consistency across all communication channels. It oversees tour generation programs including owner referral programs, off-site initiatives, and travel partner promotions, while analyzing competitive intelligence to continually refine marketing direction. Responsibilities include managing sales floor tour flow, ensuring an optimal guest experience, monitoring guest survey results, and coordinating with marketing operations to drive traffic and increase channel production. The role involves performing cost and performance analysis of past programs to enhance future marketing effectiveness, maintaining key performance reports such as confirmations-per-guest, volume-per-guest, close rate, and budget-versus-actual results. The Director manages external vendor contracts, builds partnerships with resort operations and OPC vendors, and ensures communication alignment between marketing and sales teams. Workforce management includes coaching, performance measurement, creating compensation plans, conducting training programs, updating policies, and mediating conflicts. The position upholds compliance with state and federal marketing regulations such as Do Not Call requirements and supports enterprise-wide planning and reporting obligations.

- Manage marketing mix to ensure attainment of overall marketing cost targets.
- Oversee sales floor operations to ensure efficient guest tour flow and activation processes.
- Monitor guest experience surveys, publish findings, and follow up on required actions.
- Coordinate with marketing operations and site programs on initiatives to increase production.
- Develop strategies and incentive programs to achieve or exceed budgeted goals.
- Analyze past program performance, including cost and contractual provisions, to recommend enhancements.
- Use production performance reports to evaluate team and individual outcomes.
- Conduct competitive market analysis such as cost-per-tour and marketing cost by channel.
- Monitor Budget vs Actual Results and prepare summaries for management.
- Negotiate vendor contracts and manage external partnerships to support sales objectives.
- Build alignment between sales and marketing teams regarding guest eligibility and tour generation requirements.
- Prepare quarterly objectives with the Director of Sales.
- Lead team meetings, coach associates, and measure performance against established goals.
- Reward and recognize associate performance and implement motivational initiatives.
- Identify strengths and development areas via ride-alongs, shadowing, and monitoring.
- Develop and update sales training manuals and process enhancements.
- Conduct performance reviews and create development and promotion plans.
- Manage underperformance through progressive discipline.
Experience & skills
- Hold a bachelor's degree or possess four years of equivalent work experience.
- Have a minimum of two years of experience in a similar marketing leadership position.
- Demonstrate proficiency in reading and writing English; additional languages may be required depending on role.
- Be willing to work closely with the general public in sales and marketing environments requiring strong communication and customer service skills.
