AI-assisted development is becoming part of how software gets built across Mashreq Digital, and this position exists to make that adoption safe, consistent and cost-effective. Reporting to the Digital Engineering Chapter Lead and working with Principal Engineers, the Senior Engineer (AI Engineer) keeps the AI practice aligned with engineering standards across the Retail Banking Group. Hands-on coding comes first, with depth in either frontend or backend expected, and you will write, review and ship production code alongside the squads you support. Building, rolling out and maintaining the tooling, standards and controls for AI-assisted delivery sits with you as well. Operational health is measured through adoption, output quality, token and license consumption, and cost per unit of delivery. Documentation, training and enablement sessions help good practice spread quickly from one squad to the next. The role is based in the office full time in the UAE.
