Job description
The BMS Project Engineer at Siemens UAE is a pivotal role within the Smart Infrastructure Managed Service division, directly reporting to the Engineering Department â BMS & Security systems for the Middle East region. Based in Dubai or Abu Dhabi, the engineer will be instrumental in driving business growth for BMS & Security Systems. The role encompasses managing the project turnover process between equipment sales and execution, interpreting engineering drawings and specifications to develop compliant equipment submittals, and following standardized guidelines for submittal preparation. The engineer will develop and review SDLC deliverables, including Requirements Specifications, Requirements Traceability Matrix, Functional Specification, Design Specification, Code Review, and Test specifications/scripts. Collaboration with vendors and the QAIT function is essential to ensure all deliverables meet project requirements. Participation in Hardware and Software FATs and SATs, contribution to project schedules, and active involvement in project meetings are integral to the role. The engineer will liaise with stakeholders to ensure clear communication, utilize the SOL NG tool for logs, forecasts, and R/O Management, and provide training for client representatives. Coordination with technicians for system commissioning and with Sales Engineers for project details is required. The engineer will also be responsible for contract and client management, addressing project delays, and submitting reports to the Project Manager. Proficiency in Siemens Desigo CC/Insight, X Works, PX controllers, and utility systems like chilled water, hot water, and steam generation is essential. Familiarity with Siemens BMS solutions, industrial control panels, networking, panel/field wiring, and PLC control systems is preferred. Experience with CCTV and ACS systems is advantageous. Fluency in English and proficiency in Microsoft Office tools are required.

- Follow standardized submittal generation guidelines for engineering submittals
- Develop and review SDLC deliverables including Requirements Specifications, Traceability Matrix, Functional and Design Specifications, Code Reviews, and Test specifications/scripts
- Collaborate with vendors to ensure deliverables meet project requirements
- Work closely with the QAIT function to meet all deliverable requirements
- Participate in Hardware and Software FATs and SATs
- Provide input to the development of project schedules and document trackers
- Participate in and support relevant project meetings
- Liaise with stakeholders to ensure clear communication across all parties
- Utilize SOL NG tool for Logs, Forecasts, and R/O Management on a monthly basis
- Provide training for client's representatives
- Coordinate with technicians for system commissioning within the time schedule
- Coordinate with Sales Engineers to obtain project details including DPS, Equipment Schedule, and Sequence of operations
- Manage contract and client relations, addressing project delays and submitting reports to the Project Manager
Experience & skills
- Relevant Computer Science or Engineering degree or equivalent
- Strong experience with Siemens Desigo CC/Insight, X Works, and PX controllers
- Experience with utility systems such as chilled water, hot water, and steam generation
- Minimum of 7 yearsâ experience in a similar role, ideally in the industry
- Technical proficiency in control systems, familiarity with Siemens BMS solutions, industrial control panels, networking, panel/field wiring, and PLC control systems
- Experience with CCTV and Access Control Systems (ACS) alongside BMS projects is advantageous
- Fluent in English, both written and verbal
- Excellent computer skills, proficient in Microsoft Excel, SharePoint, Word, and PowerPoint
