Job description
GEMS Education is seeking a Head of Strategic Communications to lead PR and external communications across the corporate and school network. Based in Dubai, this senior leadership role is responsible for positioning GEMS as a thought leader in education, managing corporate reputation, and aligning communication strategies with broader brand and stakeholder objectives. The ideal candidate brings deep regional media expertise and a proven ability to lead crisis communications and executive visibility.

Key responsibilities
- Develop and lead PR and communication strategies aligned with business goals
- Manage corporate reputation and drive consistent external messaging
- Oversee crisis communications and reputational risk mitigation
- Foster strong media relations across UAE and MENASA regions
- Create and promote executive thought leadership content
- Support brand alignment across PR, digital, and social media campaigns
- Provide communications coaching to executives and school leadership
- Deliver performance analytics and reports on communication effectiveness
- Serve as primary liaison between GEMS executives and external stakeholders
Experience & skills
- Bachelorās in Communications, PR, Journalism, or related discipline
- 12ā15 years of senior-level communications experience
- Strong media network in UAE and MENASA
- Track record of crisis communications and executive leadership support
- Experience working in large matrix organizations
- Fluency in English; Arabic is a plus
