Job description
Reporting to the Group Chief Credit Officer, this Senior Credit Underwriter sits in Bank ABC's Head Office Credit Department in Bahrain. The job is to keep the Corporate Credit portfolio sound, independently assessing new business and periodic reviews of existing clients against the Group's Risk Appetite Statement and Group Credit Policy. Each assessment ends in a clear, timely recommendation to the relevant credit committee, with key risks and mitigants set out. Proposals must reach the GCC within the prescribed timeframe, and outstanding documentation on the Out of Order report has to be addressed in the CAF. Country coverage is part of the role, with travel for portfolio reviews when the Group Head of CCU requires it. Sector reports, policy interpretation support and work on CRG transformation projects add to the mix. Analysis spans corporate balance sheets as well as banks, looking at capital, asset quality, profitability and liquidity. Expect to bring at least 10 years of experience, ideally with an international bank, plus strong financial statement analysis and knowledge of vanilla credit product risks and legal documentation.
