Job description
Turner & Townsend, a global professional services company employing over 22,000 professionals across more than 60 countries, is seeking young and driven Emirati Nationals to join the Abu Dhabi office as an Assistant Cost Manager within the Real Estate department, supporting project delivery across real estate, infrastructure, energy, and natural resources sectors. The role is designed for individuals interested in building a career in Cost & Commercial Management and Quantity Surveying, contributing to programme management, project management, cost management, asset management, and commercial management services. The Assistant Cost Manager will support controls and performance monitoring, procurement and supply chain functions, and assist in delivering net zero and digital solutions aligned with client requirements. Working within Turner & Townsendâs partnership with CBRE Group, Inc., the worldâs largest commercial real estate services and investment firm, the role provides exposure to global best practices in programme, project, and cost management. The ideal candidate is a fresh graduate with a Civil Engineering or related educational background, although candidates with Quantity Surveying or Cost Management experience are highly desirable. The role requires UAE National candidates who are willing to work full-time on-site five days a week in Abu Dhabi and contribute to delivering impactful projects and programmes that transform challenges into opportunities while supporting commercial performance, cost control, and project delivery objectives across multidisciplinary teams.

Key responsibilities
- Support cost and commercial management activities across real estate, infrastructure, energy, and natural resources projects by assisting senior cost managers in performing quantity surveying duties, monitoring project costs, supporting cost planning activities, and contributing to the preparation of cost estimates, cost reports, and financial forecasts throughout the project lifecycle while ensuring alignment with project objectives and client expectations.
- Assist in programme, project, cost, asset, and commercial management services by supporting project delivery teams in tracking project budgets, maintaining cost databases, preparing commercial documentation, and coordinating with stakeholders involved in procurement, supply chain management, and contract administration to ensure efficient and compliant project execution.
- Contribute to controls and performance management by supporting cost control processes, monitoring project financial performance, assisting in variance analysis, identifying cost risks and opportunities, and providing support in preparing cost performance reports to ensure projects remain within approved budgets and timelines.
- Support procurement and supply chain activities by assisting in preparing tender documentation, evaluating supplier and contractor proposals, contributing to commercial negotiations, and ensuring procurement processes align with project cost management strategies and organizational procurement standards.
- Assist in implementing digital solutions and net zero initiatives within cost and commercial management functions by supporting data collection, monitoring sustainability-related cost impacts, and contributing to digital cost management tools and reporting frameworks used within Turner & Townsend project environments.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including project managers, engineers, clients, and stakeholders to support project delivery, assist in commercial coordination, track deliverables, and ensure cost management activities align with project requirements across real estate and infrastructure development projects.
- Support the preparation of cost plans, budgets, and commercial reports by gathering project data, analyzing cost trends, assisting in preparing financial documentation, and maintaining accurate cost records to support informed decision-making and project governance.
- Assist in project lifecycle cost management activities including feasibility, planning, execution, and close-out phases by supporting cost analysis, contributing to project documentation, and ensuring cost management practices align with Turner & Townsend methodologies and client requirements.
Experience & skills
- Hold a BSc in Civil Engineering or other related fields, demonstrating foundational knowledge in construction principles, engineering concepts, and cost management practices relevant to real estate and infrastructure projects within a professional services environment.
- Be a UAE National eligible to work in Abu Dhabi and committed to joining Turner & Townsendâs Emiratization initiatives aimed at developing local talent within cost management, commercial management, and quantity surveying disciplines.
- Demonstrate interest in Cost & Commercial Management and Quantity Surveying by showing academic exposure, internship experience, or professional interest in cost planning, cost estimation, commercial management, and project cost control within construction or real estate environments.
- Possess a fresh graduate profile or demonstrate Quantity Surveying or Cost Management experience, including exposure to cost planning, procurement processes, commercial documentation, or project cost tracking within construction or engineering projects.
- Be willing to work full-time on-site five days per week in the Abu Dhabi office, supporting project teams and participating in on-site project activities as required for cost management and commercial coordination.
- Demonstrate understanding of project management, programme management, and cost management methodologies, including exposure to cost control processes, procurement procedures, and supply chain coordination within project environments.
- Show ability to support digital solutions and net zero initiatives within cost management functions, including willingness to learn digital tools, cost management systems, and sustainability-related cost tracking methodologies.
- Demonstrate capability to work within multidisciplinary teams across real estate, infrastructure, energy, and natural resources sectors while supporting project delivery, commercial management activities, and cost performance monitoring.
