The Senior Civil Engineer role at Wood involves leading civil design and engineering activities for large-scale gas processing projects, ensuring compliance with client standards, safety, and quality procedures. This position is based in Abu Dhabi and supports Wood’s Oil, Gas & New Energies business, delivering innovative and integrated solutions across onshore, offshore, and decarbonization markets. The engineer will oversee design execution, supervise assigned engineers, and maintain project integrity within defined budget and schedule. The position requires deep technical knowledge in structural design, pipe rack studies, and instrumentation systems, as well as familiarity with civil software tools and engineering standards. Responsibilities also include reviewing and approving technical documentation such as P&IDs, PSFS, DPTDs, and safety-related calculations, and contributing to HAZOP, SIL, and flare system design reviews. The role demands strong project coordination, change management, and mentorship capabilities, ensuring project deliverables align with organizational goals while mentoring junior engineers. The ideal candidate will bring at least 10 years of experience, a background in civil and structural design, and the ability to engage in complex technical discussions, manage multidisciplinary teams, and contribute to transformative energy projects under tight deadlines.
