Job description
The Project Accountant will support the UAE Business Unit in Dubai on a 6-month maternity cover assignment. The role is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely financial accounting and reporting across assigned projects, contracts, or service lines. The position involves managing billing, cashflow, forecasting, profitability analysis, and financial data visualization, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to provide meaningful insights to internal stakeholders and external clients.

Key responsibilities
- Prepare and record accurate accounting entries in line with corporate deadlines.
- Ensure timely and contract-compliant invoicing and billing processes.
- Manage project cashflow and support DSO optimization and unbilled control.
- Calculate billing and cost rates and analyze margins to support profitability management.
- Support annual budgeting and quarterly reforecasting processes.
- Reconcile, analyze, and control key balance sheet accounts.
- Collect, analyze, and interpret financial data to identify trends and anomalies.
- Develop and maintain financial databases, spreadsheets, and reporting tools.
- Create dashboards and visual reports using tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
- Collaborate with business management, finance teams, and project stakeholders to ensure data accuracy and financial transparency.
Experience & skills
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Engineering, or related field.
- Professional certification (CIMA, ACCA, or equivalent) preferred.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in financial analysis or project accounting.
- Strong proficiency in Excel and ERP systems such as Oracle.
- Experience with data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, or similar).
- Strong analytical skills and commercial awareness.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to build strong working relationships.
- High ethical standards, attention to detail, and self-motivated mindset.
