Job description
The Head of Centralized Procurement (Head of CPD) serves as Chief Procurement Officer for Mashreq Bank Group and provides independent oversight, governance, and strategic leadership for all indirect procurement activities across global entities. This executive-level role is responsible for procurement policy development, digital transformation of procurement operations, supplier governance, and spend optimization. The position drives adoption of AI-enabled procurement, predictive analytics, and automation to improve operational efficiency, transparency, compliance, and value creation. The role operates across multiple geographies and business units, managing complex procurement categories including technology, real estate, corporate services, and business services. The position also plays a critical role in third-party risk management, ESG integration, cost optimization, procurement lifecycle automation, and vendor governance. The Head of CPD leads cross-functional collaboration with risk, legal, compliance, finance, and technology teams while ensuring procurement maturity and operational excellence across global entities.

- The Head of CPD oversees digital transformation initiatives within procurement operations. The role also evaluates procurement technologies, upgrades existing systems, and ensures seamless integration with finance, compliance, and risk management systems to improve procurement transparency and governance.

Experience & skills
- The ideal candidate must possess 15–18 years of procurement experience, including leadership roles in centralized procurement, category management, and procurement governance. Experience in managing procurement operations across multiple geographies is essential, particularly within banking or financial services environments. The candidate should demonstrate expertise in indirect procurement categories such as technology, real estate, corporate services, and professional services.
- Candidates should hold a graduate degree with preference given to those with an MBA or equivalent postgraduate qualification. Additional certifications in procurement, supply chain management, or strategic sourcing are advantageous. Strong academic background combined with leadership experience in procurement transformation initiatives is highly desirable.
- The role requires strong expertise in procurement governance, policy development, and compliance management. Candidates should demonstrate experience in designing procurement frameworks, managing vendor contracts, and implementing governance controls across global organizations.
