Job description
The Credit Support Officer at Bank ABC provides second line of defense support within the Credit Department at the Bahrain Head Office. The role involves managing and tracking Credit Application Forms, maintaining committee documentation, providing accurate credit MIS and portfolio reporting, and supporting portfolio review processes. This position also collaborates closely with risk management, finance, and wholesale banking teams, and provides administrative and analytical support to meet regulatory and internal governance requirements. The role plays a key part in developing dashboards, updating risk frameworks, and assisting in audit and regulatory engagements while contributing to employee engagement and developmental initiatives within the Credit Risk Group.

Key responsibilities
- Timely circulation of Credit Application Forms (CAFs), tracking, follow-up and completion of GCC/HOCC voting process.
- Manage GCC committee diaries and agendas, collate material for voting members and provide logistic support.
- Maintain GCC meeting minutes and action points with periodic updates and escalation where needed.
- Monitor and report on Large Exposures, KRIs/KPIs, ARC Objectives, and annual review tracking.
- Support Central Bank of Bahrain quarterly submissions and concentration thresholds monitoring.
- Prepare portfolio segmentation reports such as Top Names, Private Corporates, SMEs, and Names of Concern.
- Analyze risk ratings and IFRS staging trends and migration.
- Act as liaison between Credit Risk Management, Group Finance, Group Ops, Wholesale Banking, and Group Credit.
- Manage Group Credit Monitoring & Portfolio Forums and ad-hoc meetings with associated tasks (agenda, actions, minutes).
- Assist with country limits updates, portfolio dashboards, and Power-BI implementation.
- Support credit and risk policy updates, escalation of past due payments, and irregularities.
- Assist in audit, GAQR, RCSA, OP Risk, and ensure timely issue resolution and submission.
- Consolidate ARCM returns, and trend analysis for Stage 3 and Stage 2 accounts.
- Support internal projects, UAT testing, reporting structures, and procedural governance.
- Participate in employee development activities, maintain mandatory training and skills development.
- Ensure back-up coverage, handover plans, and regulatory conduct adherence across the team.
Experience & skills
- 8 years in banking, with at least 4 years in retail portfolio management involving credit MIS reporting.
- 3-5 yearsâ experience, preferably with an international bank.
- A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree with an element of MIS, Finance or equivalent.
- Professional Certificate in Risk is preferable.
- Strong organizational skills to manage committee logistics and reporting workflows.
- Knowledge of credit systems and risk reporting functions.
- Understanding of Credit and Business processes and related data handling.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and preferably Power BI.
- Strong data analysis, data manipulation, and visualization capabilities.
- Familiarity with report content, origination, and publication in a banking context impacting credit risk.
