Job description
Cover runs 24x7, so escalations can come in at any hour and carrier partners expect trouble tickets to be worked through to resolution within SLA. Edara places this engineer with du (Emirates Integrated Telecommunications Company), and although the title refers to IPTV Operations, the listed duties centre on the International Gateway (IGW) voice platform. Core nodes include SOFTX3000 and the SBC, where you handle configuration changes, operations and maintenance. New partners need testing before they go live, and acceptance testing and new feature implementation follow the same careful approach. Reading call flows and telecom protocol traces is a daily task, drawing on SS7 ISUP, SIGTRAN, SIP, SIP-I, SIP-T, H.248 and the A-interface. Audit, health and capacity reports come from you as well. Customer complaints and VIP care cases need a calm, clear approach. The role calls for 6 to 7 years in Mobile Core networks covering IP NATing, SIP and SS7 signalling, a Bachelor's degree in Electrical & Electronic, Telecommunications or Computer Engineering, and some team management experience.
