Job description
The Junior Legal β Assistant Manager based in Dubai supports legal and compliance functions within a shipping and logistics environment, ensuring that organizational operations comply with applicable UAE laws, maritime regulations, and internal corporate policies. The role is responsible for providing day-to-day legal support and advisory services to internal departments, assisting in the interpretation of laws, regulations, and contractual obligations, and ensuring that legal risks are identified, assessed, and effectively mitigated. The position involves drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts, agreements, and other legal documents while ensuring alignment with company policies and legal requirements. The role maintains and manages a centralized contract repository and monitors contract terms, renewals, and obligations to ensure compliance and continuity. Additionally, the Junior Legal Assistant Manager assists in implementing compliance frameworks, tracking regulatory changes, and advising business units on necessary legal actions. The role supports dispute resolution processes, including handling legal claims and litigation matters in coordination with external legal counsel when required, and preparing legal documentation and case materials. It also ensures proper documentation of legal matters for audits and regulatory requirements while preparing legal reports and management summaries. The position requires close collaboration with internal departments such as operations, finance, and HR, as well as liaison with external stakeholders including regulatory authorities and legal advisors. The Junior Legal Assistant Manager plays a key role in ensuring effective legal governance, risk mitigation, and compliance across the organization.

Key responsibilities
- Provide legal support and advisory services to internal departments on day-to-day operational and commercial legal matters
- Assist in interpreting UAE laws, maritime regulations, contractual obligations, and corporate policies to ensure compliance
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and legal documents in alignment with company policies and legal requirements
- Maintain and manage a centralized contract repository and monitor contract terms, renewals, and compliance obligations
- Ensure compliance with UAE laws, maritime regulations, and corporate governance frameworks across business operations
- Support implementation and maintenance of compliance frameworks and monitor regulatory changes affecting business activities
- Assist in dispute resolution, claims handling, and litigation support in coordination with external legal counsel
- Prepare legal documentation, reports, and case materials for management review, audits, and regulatory purposes
- Identify legal and operational risks and recommend preventive and corrective measures to management
- Collaborate with internal departments and external stakeholders to ensure effective coordination of legal and compliance matters
Experience & skills
- Hold a Bachelorβs degree in Law (LLB) or a related field
- Demonstrate 3β6 years of experience in legal roles within shipping, logistics, or corporate environments
- Possess strong understanding of contract law, legal procedures, and regulatory compliance
- Demonstrate knowledge of UAE laws and maritime regulations relevant to shipping and logistics operations
- Show strong drafting, negotiation, and legal documentation skills
- Demonstrate ability to conduct legal risk assessment and provide practical legal solutions
- Exhibit strong analytical thinking and attention to detail in legal work
- Demonstrate strong communication and stakeholder management skills across internal and external parties
