Job description
The Senior Manager - Fire, Health & Safety role at Primark UAE is responsible for managing and reducing health and safety risk within the retail business by taking geographical responsibility for the implementation of strategic initiatives and the delivery of operational outputs in line with the H&S Annual Plan. The role covers retail stores, head office, and distribution centres, and involves conducting Health & Safety Reviews and Fire Risk Assessments using company-approved templates and documentation. The position requires undertaking detailed accident and incident investigations, performing root cause analysis, defining remedial actions, and producing high-quality accident investigation reports within agreed timescales. The role contributes to the development and enhancement of the company’s H&S Management System, assists with H&S system developments, supports policy and business system development, and delivers and develops company H&S training and awareness modules. All activities must be performed in full compliance with the H&S Annual Plan, ensuring consistent standards, regulatory compliance, and effective risk mitigation across a multi-site retail environment.

Key responsibilities
- Manage and reduce health and safety risk across the retail business through geographical responsibility for implementation of the H&S Annual Plan
- Undertake detailed accident and incident investigations, perform root cause analysis, and define remedial actions and role-specific action plans
- Produce detailed accident investigation reports to a high standard using company-approved templates within agreed timescales
- Conduct Health & Safety Reviews and Fire Risk Assessments for all stores, head office, and distribution centres in line with the H&S Annual Plan
- Ensure all Health & Safety Reviews and Fire Risk Assessments are completed to a high standard using approved documentation
- Deliver all operational outputs in full compliance with the H&S Annual Plan
- Assist in the development of company health and safety training modules
- Deliver company health and safety and awareness training modules to a consistently high standard
- Assist in the implementation of health and safety system developments
- Contribute to the development of company health and safety arrangements through delivery of key H&S projects
- Support the ongoing development of the company Health & Safety Management System
Experience & skills
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in health and safety within a retail or multi-site environment
- Proven track record of policy development and business systems development
- Experience as a health and safety trainer
- NEBOSH General Certificate
- Preferably hold or be working towards HSE Diploma, NVQ, or other health and safety specific qualifications
- Knowledge in fire safety, construction safety, food safety, and business auditing
- IT literacy including Microsoft PowerPoint
- High level of English language proficiency and numerical capability
- Strong investigatory, analytical, questioning, and business reporting skills
