The Senior Product Specialist – Biologics at AstraZeneca in Riyadh is responsible for generating clinical demand for the Biologics portfolio through proactive identification of business opportunities, presenting value propositions aligned with stakeholder needs, and recommending solutions to drive and develop business. The role requires developing strategic and mutually beneficial relationships with Multi-Disciplinary Teams (MDT), Decision Making Units (DMU), and other stakeholders based on deep scientific understanding. The Specialist is accountable for influencing prescribing behavior, maximizing sales volume and market share, conducting market and competitor analysis, developing account strategies, allocating resources for optimal sales impact, and participating in promotional programs to enhance product awareness. The Specialist maintains ongoing collaborative relationships with stakeholders, updates customer segmentation and call records in Veeva, delivers key promotional messages in accordance with approved marketing strategy, and builds credibility within the framework of AstraZeneca Code of Conduct. Reporting responsibilities include submitting monthly reports, synchronizing data in ETMS Veeva, monitoring sales transactions, and providing actionable insights. The role also encompasses capability building in the healthcare ecosystem, conducting science-based discussions, arranging multidisciplinary workshops and speaker programs, supporting pharmacists and nurses, driving sales performance to meet or exceed targets, ensuring optimal product utilization in line with guidelines and license, implementing sales strategy and TAP aligned with company policies, and facilitating the enlistment of newly launched products. Compliance with external regulations, internal policies, AstraZeneca Code of Ethics, and local legislation is required. Personal development expectations include enhancing effectiveness per the Associate Key Account Competency framework, identifying self-development areas, and participating in training and sales meetings. The role supports AstraZeneca’s transformation in KSA under Saudi Vision 2030, leveraging digital solutions, and contributing to sustainable healthcare growth.

Key responsibilities
- Develop account strategy and business plans to improve positioning of AZ's Biologics products at a local level
- Conduct market and competitor analysis to identify territory business opportunities
- Allocate resources, including call activities and budgets, for optimal sales impact
- Participate in promotional programs to increase product awareness and establish strategic partnerships
- Engage stakeholders in dialogue about approved indications, efficacy, safety, and treatment protocols
- Maintain long-term collaborative relationships with MDT and DMU stakeholders
- Update customer segmentation, databases, and call records continuously in Veeva
- Deliver key promotional messages according to approved plan and marketing strategy
- Submit monthly reports with commentary on deviations and intended actions to align performance
- Monitor and assess sales transactions to identify irregular patterns
- Build knowledge of AZ Biologics value proposition, indications, and efficacy among all relevant stakeholders
- Conduct science-based discussions with HCPs as per approved indications
- Arrange multidisciplinary workshops and coordinate effective speaker programs with physician advocates and KOLs
- Support Central pharmacists and nurses on relevant trainings
- Drive sales performance and ensure forecasts meet or exceed expectations while managing budgets
- Ensure products are utilized optimally in line with national/local guidelines and product licenses
- Implement sales strategy, tactics, and Account Action Plan (TAP) aligned with company policies
- Facilitate enlistment of newly launched and key products in accounts within agreed timelines
- Comply with all external regulations, internal policies, AstraZeneca Code of Ethics, and local legislation
- Develop behaviors for enhanced effectiveness per Associate Key Account Competency framework and participate in sales meetings and training sessions
Experience & skills
- Saudi national
- Minimum 2 years of Sales experience with knowledge of account management, including pharmaceutical sales
- Minimum 1 year of sales experience in Biologics
- Proven track record engaging key stakeholders in complex clinical environments, including mid and senior-level HCPs, key accounts, and the medical community
- Proven track record influencing decision-making within complex DMU ecosystems
- Successful experience working in cross-functional teams
- Customer value proposition and patient-centric focus
- Business acumen with high medical knowledge
- Impactful and influential with decision-making and problem-solving skills
- Key account management expertise desirable
- Experience with Rheumatology specialty doctors desirable
