Job description
The Head of Communications for Saudi Arabia is a senior role within TikTok’s METAPSA regional communications team and the wider global communications function, responsible for strengthening TikTok’s presence and reputation in one of its most strategically important markets. Based in Riyadh with some travel, the role blends strategic leadership with hands-on execution, requiring the ability to shape narratives and ensure effective delivery in a fast-moving environment. The position demands deep understanding of the Saudi media, cultural, industry, and policy landscape, alongside meaningful relationships with senior media, industry, and policy stakeholders. The role leads the communications and PR strategy for Saudi Arabia, ensuring alignment with local insights as well as regional and global objectives, while developing campaigns and narratives that directly support business goals and reputation priorities with clear metrics and accountability. It provides senior leaders and cross-functional teams with market intelligence and guidance on navigating the Saudi landscape, secures and manages high-priority media, speaking, and stakeholder opportunities, prepares spokespeople for public engagement, manages PR and agency partners, leads issues and crisis response, tracks media, policy, and industry developments to identify risks and opportunities, and supports broader regional communications priorities during escalations or major moments. The role operates within TikTok’s global technology environment, aligned with the company’s mission to inspire creativity and bring joy, and its commitment to diversity and inclusion.

Key responsibilities
- Lead, own, and deliver the communications and public relations strategy for Saudi Arabia aligned with local insight and regional and global goals
- Develop and execute campaigns and narratives that support business objectives and reputation priorities with defined metrics and accountability
- Provide market intelligence and strategic guidance to senior leaders and cross-functional teams on Saudi media, cultural, industry, and policy landscapes
- Secure, manage, and deliver priority speaking engagements, media opportunities, and stakeholder interactions
- Prepare and brief spokespeople to ensure confidence, accuracy, and contextual alignment
- Build, maintain, and leverage a strong network of senior journalists, editors, commentators, and influential voices in Saudi Arabia
- Lead issues management and crisis communications for Saudi Arabia with clear judgement and coordinated execution
- Monitor media, policy, and industry developments to identify opportunities and early indicators of risk
- Manage PR agencies and external partners to ensure high standards of quality, accuracy, and speed
- Support regional communications priorities during escalations, major moments, or cross-market initiatives
Experience & skills
- Demonstrate extensive experience in communications or public relations within complex and high-stakes environments
- Be fluent in Arabic and fluent in English with strong writing, editing, and stakeholder engagement capabilities
- Maintain a well-established network of senior media and opinion leaders in Saudi Arabia
- Show the ability to independently set communications strategy and execute with strong judgement and bias for action
- Exhibit strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
- Hold a Bachelor’s degree or higher in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field
- Possess prior technology sector experience, which is preferred but not required
