Job description
The Logistics Assistant role in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, is a support position within a hospital supply chain environment, responsible for performing a wide range of logistics and materials handling functions across the supply chain. The role involves lifting, moving, delivering, and managing goods across stores, warehouses, and multiple hospital locations. Key responsibilities include daily shelf checks and arranging items using a First-In-First-Out (FIFO) system, monitoring item expiry dates and reporting expiries to the relevant teams, overseeing stock movement between stores and warehouses, and ensuring expired items are clearly labeled and placed in designated areas. The position requires conducting barcoding and verification of all barcoded items, performing sample deliveries, and ensuring timely delivery of items across different hospital units. The Logistics Assistant supports Store Assistants with daily issuance, conducts physical inventory counts, performs inventory verification and reconciliation, and manages the physical movement of items across American Hospital Dubai’s locations. The role requires close collaboration with the entire Supply Chain Team and the ability to carry out additional assigned duties to support efficient hospital logistics operations.

Experience & skills
- High School Graduate or equivalent qualification
- Minimum of 1–2 years of hospital store or healthcare supply chain experience
- Practical knowledge of First-In-first-Out (FIFO) inventory management
- Experience in monitoring expiry dates and handling expired medical or consumable items
- Ability to conduct barcoding, verification, and physical inventory reconciliation
- Familiarity with warehouse operations and inter-location stock movement
- Basic computer literacy and familiarity with inventory management systems or ERP platforms
- Physical ability to lift, move, and transport goods safely
- Attention to detail and accuracy in handling medical and hospital items
- Ability to follow hospital policies, SOPs, and safety regulations at all times
