The Senior Manager β Planning and Process Control at DP World Drydocks World (DDW) is responsible for leading planning, process control, and resource optimization activities related to structural works across shipyard operations. The role involves reviewing existing process controls, proposing improvements, and managing implementation across departments to enhance operational efficiency and productivity. The position oversees distribution of structural work across new building, EPC, and conversion projects, ensuring optimal allocation of manpower, fabrication resources, and timelines. The role also contributes to managing high-value capital expenditure projects related to structural works by conducting technical evaluations, ROI analysis, and preparing business justifications for management approval. The Senior Manager is responsible for studying emerging technologies within the shipyard industry and recommending innovative solutions to improve fabrication efficiency, automation, and cost optimization. The position supports fabrication departments in resolving cost of quality issues and implementing lessons learned to improve operational performance. The role includes leading central planning activities for yard manpower resource planning and fabrication space allocation while coordinating closely with project planners, trade planners, procurement teams, and commercial departments. The Senior Manager develops historical yard capacity data and supports strategic planning for future resource requirements. The role also involves overseeing production planning activities related to structural works and ensuring continuous process improvement through automation, process changes, and technical innovations. Additionally, the Senior Manager provides leadership to planning teams, develops succession plans, and ensures employees adhere to information security policies and operational standards.

Key responsibilities
- Review existing process controls related to structural works, propose improvements, and manage implementation in coordination with department managers.
- Oversee distribution of structural jobs across new building, EPC, and conversion projects, ensuring optimal allocation of work centers and manpower resources.
- Evaluate and manage high-value CAPEX projects related to structural works, including ROI calculation and technical justification for management approval.
- Study emerging shipyard technologies and propose automation and process improvements to enhance productivity and cost efficiency.
- Lead central planning activities for yard manpower resource planning and fabrication space allocation.
- Coordinate with project planners, trade planners, procurement teams, and commercial departments to align planning requirements.
- Develop historical data related to yard capacities and capabilities to support strategic planning and decision-making.
- Oversee production planning activities related to structural works and ensure efficient fabrication scheduling.
- Support fabrication departments in addressing cost of quality issues and implementing lessons learned.
- Provide leadership, mentoring, and on-the-job training to planning teams and develop succession plans.
- Monitor implementation of structural CAPEX projects and ensure technical and operational alignment.
- Ensure compliance with information security rules and data protection standards across planning operations.
Experience & skills
- Apply a Bachelorβs degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
- Demonstrate at least 15+ years of experience in shipyard, offshore, or oil and gas industries.
- Possess 3β5 years of experience in a Planning Head or senior planning leadership role.
- Exhibit strong knowledge of structural fabrication works and shipyard operations.
- Demonstrate proficiency in Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, and Microsoft Office applications.
- Apply strong understanding of project controls, scheduling, and yard resource planning.
- Demonstrate ability to interpret technical drawings and structural fabrication documentation.
- Exhibit strong leadership skills with experience managing planning teams and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Demonstrate experience in CAPEX evaluation, cost optimization, and process improvement initiatives.
- Exhibit strong analytical and problem-solving skills in large-scale industrial project environments.
