Job description
The Associate â Audit & Assurance (IT Audit) internship at Deloitte UAE offers hands-on exposure to auditing processes and IT assurance practices within one of the worldâs most reputable professional services firms. Based in Dubai, the role supports audit teams in performing risk assessments, evaluating financial controls, and ensuring compliance with auditing and accounting standards. Interns will work on client engagements involving IT systems, financial data, and regulatory requirements, developing an understanding of how technology influences financial reporting accuracy and business risk. The position contributes to the delivery of high-quality audits using Deloitteâs global methodology and technology-driven enablers, providing valuable experience in both IT and financial assurance. Candidates will gain insights into audit methodologies, judgment formulation, and professional ethics while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and applying accounting knowledge to real-world business environments.
Required skills
Key responsibilities
- Support audit teams in conducting IT and financial audit procedures, ensuring alignment with Deloitteâs audit methodology and quality standards
- Assist in performing risk assessment procedures to identify and evaluate areas of potential misstatement or noncompliance
- Participate in the preparation and review of audit documentation, including audit working papers, test results, and client deliverables
- Contribute to the development of audit findings, recommendations, and management letters for client reporting
- Ensure compliance with applicable accounting and auditing standards, laws, and firm-wide quality control procedures
- Apply professional judgement to analyze audit evidence and draw appropriate conclusions under supervision
- Collaborate with team members across multiple levels to deliver high-quality outputs within set deadlines
- Leverage Deloitteâs global audit tools, templates, and guidance to enhance audit execution efficiency
- Support data validation and IT control assessments to evaluate reliability of system-generated information
- Participate in client meetings and contribute to discussions on audit issues and findings
Experience & skills
- Currently pursuing a bachelorâs degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, or a related discipline
- Knowledge of auditing and accounting standards such as IFRS or local equivalents preferred
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to multitask and manage multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with fluency in English; Arabic proficiency preferred
- Demonstrated teamwork and collaboration capabilities within a professional services setting
- Strong ethical standards and commitment to integrity and quality
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools and general IT literacy
- Interest in audit, risk management, and IT controls
- Availability for a full-time internship in Dubai
