The Assistant Vice President - Legal Counsel (Construction and Real Estate Projects) acts as legal counsel and provides legal guidance on project transactions for Aldar Projects within the construction, real estate, property development, and general commercial legal services domain. The role coordinates and maintains close contact with relevant business units and is responsible for drafting and reviewing a wide range of legal documents and agreements including construction contracts, consultancy agreements, development agreements, facilities management agreements, supply agreements, service agreements, guarantees, performance bonds, amendment agreements, novation agreements, assignment agreements, settlement agreements, confidentiality agreements, memorandum of understanding (MOU), letter of intent (LOI), and other general construction, real estate, and commercial agreements. The position provides advice on the interpretation and application of contractual and statutory provisions to implement and enforce legal contracts and assist in developing strategies related to negotiations, disputes, and other legal matters. Responsibilities include supporting legal disputes and arbitrations directly and through external advocates, handling contract breaches by third parties, and managing breach or termination processes. The role collaborates closely with procurement, commercial, and finance business units on a wide range of real estate developments and transactions. It also manages external counsel providing legal services to the business and supports the review and implementation of risk mitigation strategies on contracts and procurement activities. Additional duties include reviewing and developing template contracts related to construction, consultancy, development management, and facilities management and ensuring proper compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies. The position contributes to preparing internal governance policies including data protection, AML, and KYC, while performing English language drafting of contracts and correspondence with counterparties and government entities, with Arabic language capabilities considered beneficial.
