Job description
This role leads the execution of OQ RPIās Improvement Management process, acting as the governance owner for strategic initiatives and ensuring alignment with corporate objectives and long-term transformation ambitions. The Principal Initiative drives enterprise-wide value realization, oversees strategic priority core teams, develops standardized governance frameworks, and supports senior leadership with decision-grade analytics and reporting. The position requires strong transformation leadership, advanced performance management capabilities, and extensive experience steering cross-functional initiatives in the Oil & Gas sector.

Key responsibilities
- Shape and steer RPI-wide transformation strategy for assigned strategic priorities
- Ensure initiatives align with business objectives and deliver measurable value
- Advise senior leaders on prioritization, sequencing, and interdependencies
- Act as governance lead for assigned strategic priorities, ensuring adherence to standards
- Prepare and present progress reviews, risks, and value insights to the Transformation Steering Committee
- Lead value realization assessments and validate financial/operational impact
- Benchmark performance across transformation workstreams and identify improvement opportunities
- Develop and enhance initiative governance frameworks, templates, and methodologies
- Drive standardization and best-practice adoption across all transformation activities
- Engage with leadership, sponsors, and functional heads to drive accountability
- Coordinate executive decision-making forums and core team reviews
- Prepare communication materials, success stories, and transformation updates
- Lead engagement sessions and support organization-wide transformation awareness
- Mentor analysts and initiative owners to build enterprise-wide capability
- Support continuous improvement of transformation maturity and governance practices
Experience & skills
- 10ā12 yearsā Oil & Gas experience with 5+ years in energy management and efficiency
- Proven experience leading cross-functional initiatives and governance processes
- Strong understanding of value realization frameworks and performance analytics
- Advanced proficiency in Power BI, Excel, and dashboard reporting
- Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, or enterprise transformation frameworks
- Experience with project/portfolio management tools
- Excellent stakeholder management, facilitation, and executive communication skills
- Ability to mentor, influence, and drive accountability across senior levels
- Fluency in English (Arabic desirable)
