Job description
The Technology Consultant at Aramcoâs Global Manufacturing Excellence (GME) â Digitalization & Technology Division plays a critical leadership role in driving the ideation, development, and deployment of advanced technology solutions across Aramcoâs global downstream portfolio. This includes refining, petrochemical, gas, and terminal operations. The role focuses on introducing value-driven innovations that enhance operational efficiency, sustainability, and energy optimization. The consultant will develop technology roadmaps aligned with corporate objectives, assess and validate emerging solutions, lead feasibility studies, and manage cross-functional implementation programs. This position bridges the gap between technical innovation and business strategy, ensuring that every technology investment delivers measurable value while adhering to corporate governance, safety, and regulatory standards. The successful candidate will be a seasoned expert capable of influencing at executive level, mentoring engineers, and steering complex technology programs from concept to large-scale adoption across Aramcoâs global operations.

Key responsibilities
- Lead the full lifecycle of technology implementation across Aramcoâs downstream facilities, from concept to deployment and sustainment.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive technology roadmaps aligned with corporate priorities such as energy efficiency, process optimization, and sustainability.
- Conduct technology scouting to identify emerging innovations that deliver tangible business value to manufacturing and refining operations.
- Perform feasibility studies and techno-economic evaluations of new technologies to support strategic decision-making.
- Develop detailed business cases and cost-benefit analyses for technology adoption and scaling initiatives.
- Collaborate with internal divisions, execution agencies, and external vendors to accelerate deployment of high-impact technologies.
- Ensure that all technology initiatives comply with Aramcoâs corporate governance, HSE, and design standards.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineers, project managers, and operational staff throughout the implementation phase.
- Oversee change management initiatives to ensure smooth adoption of new technologies and integration into existing workflows.
- Monitor and report on project progress, benefits realization, and performance metrics to senior management.
- Partner with technology providers to design and deliver training programs for end-users and technical staff.
- Evaluate and propose updates to standards and governance frameworks in response to new technological developments.
- Stay abreast of global and regional trends in refining, chemicals, and digital manufacturing technologies to ensure Aramcoâs continuous innovation leadership.
Experience & skills
- Bachelorâs degree in Chemical, Industrial, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering; Masterâs degree in Engineering or Technology Management preferred.
- Minimum 15 years of experience in technology consulting, with extensive exposure to downstream oil & gas operations (refining, petrochemicals, gas).
- Proven track record in leading technology implementation projects across multiple sites or business units.
- Strong understanding of refinery and petrochemical processes and the technologies that drive efficiency and reliability.
- Experience developing and executing technology roadmaps focused on energy optimization, sustainability, and digital transformation.
- Proficiency in developing business cases, cost-benefit analyses, and technology valuation models.
- Deep understanding of industry standards, safety regulations, and risk management frameworks applicable to the oil & gas sector.
- Demonstrated expertise in managing multi-disciplinary teams and engaging with vendors, regulators, and stakeholders across functions.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of influencing senior executives and technical audiences alike.
- Experience leading change management initiatives for technology deployment in large-scale industrial environments.
- Strong analytical mindset and ability to translate complex engineering problems into actionable business solutions.
- Familiarity with emerging technologies such as AI, machine learning, IoT, and data analytics within manufacturing or energy contexts.
