Job description
As a Category Executive at Careem Groceries, you will support the category management team in executing product assortment, sourcing, pricing, and promotions across private label categories. The role is suited for someone passionate about grocery retail, eager to learn, and detail-oriented, with 2–3 years of experience in FMCG, retail, or e-commerce.

Key responsibilities
- Support the Category Manager in executing category strategies aligned with business goals.
- Assist in sourcing new products and maintaining assortment for specific product lines.
- Coordinate with suppliers on product details, pricing, promotions, and manage communications.
- Track category performance including sales, pricing, and stock availability.
- Conduct market research on competing private label brands for pricing and product mix optimization.
- Complete costing analytics, including landed cost calculations on imported items.
- Support supplier scoping and tendering to engage best-in-class partners.
- Ensure timely and accurate product listing and content updates on the app.
- Collaborate with supply chain for availability, new SKU onboarding, and replenishment cycles.
- Identify product trends and new opportunities through ongoing market research.
- Maintain strong supplier relationships and help prepare for regular business reviews.
Experience & skills
- 2–3 years of experience in category management, merchandising, or buying in grocery, retail, or FMCG.
- Strong communication and coordination skills with a commercial mindset.
- Detail-oriented with good organizational and time management skills.
- Proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets; familiarity with data/reporting tools is a plus.
- Basic understanding of commercial KPIs and performance metrics.
- Passion for grocery retail and desire to grow in category management.
- Proactive, eager to learn, and capable of working in a fast-paced environment.
