Job description
This role supports Al-Futtaim Automotiveās BYD brandāpositioned as a global technology company leading electric mobility, battery innovation, and sustainable transport solutionsāby developing and executing public relations strategies, managing social media strategy and content across Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok, and Twitter/X, and safeguarding brand reputation through proactive monitoring and crisis communication. The mandate includes building and maintaining relationships with journalists, media outlets, and influencers; overseeing creation of brand-aligned content such as press releases, blog articles, and social media posts; and tracking, analyzing, and reporting PR and social performance to optimize engagement strategies. The position collaborates closely with the Social Media Marketing Manager and internal/external stakeholders, leverages a strong network of UAE media contacts (particularly automotive and lifestyle), manages influencer partnerships and media relations, and utilizes tools such as Brandwatch, Google Analytics, and Meta Insights to inform data-driven decisions. The role requires expertise in organic social media strategies, storytelling tailored for PR and organic channels, community management, and crisis communication, aligning execution with the BYD mission of āTechnological Innovations for a Better Life."

Key responsibilities
- Develop and execute PR strategies to drive positive media coverage and manage brand reputation for BYD within Al-Futtaim Automotive
- Manage social media strategy and day-to-day content across Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok, and Twitter/X
- Build and maintain strong relationships with journalists, media outlets, and influencers across the UAE automotive and lifestyle sectors
- Oversee creation of compelling, brand-aligned content including press releases, blog articles, and social media posts
- Monitor brand perception, manage crisis communication workflows, and implement brand reputation management actions
- Track, analyze, and report on PR and social media performance to optimize engagement and content strategies
- Collaborate with internal teams and external agencies under the Social Media Marketing Manager to ensure aligned execution and approvals
- Coordinate influencer partnerships and media relations activities to amplify brand reach and credibility
Experience & skills
- Bachelorās Degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field (Masterās or relevant certifications is a plus)
- 3ā5 years of experience in PR, social media, or corporate communications, preferably within automotive, luxury, or lifestyle industries
- Strong network of media contacts in the UAE, particularly in automotive and lifestyle sectors
- Proven experience managing organic social media strategies, influencer partnerships, and crisis communication
- Proficiency with social media management and analytics tools (e.g., Brandwatch, Google Analytics, Meta Insights or similar)
- Strong content creation and storytelling skills tailored for PR and organic social media
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret channel performance and optimize strategy
- Ability to craft engaging social narratives and manage online community interactions
- Strong project management and stakeholder engagement skills
