Job description
The Officer – Engineering Systems (eTechlog) role is responsible for ensuring the 24*7 effective operation of flydubai’s eTechlog system and all associated devices, supporting uninterrupted aircraft operations across Engineering, Maintenance, and Flight Operations. The role oversees end-to-end configuration of the eTechlog system, including system configuration, interface setup, workflow management, vendor service requests, change requests, and report development. It manages full user administration activities such as user creation, role and access rights configuration, e-signature management, and login reviews. The position coordinates first-level operational support for daily eTechlog inquiries, addresses and resolves system bugs reported by Pilots, Engineering, and Maintenance staff, and ensures issues are investigated, replicated, and escalated to vendors when required. Responsibilities include coordinating with vendors on issue resolution and system enhancements, conducting thorough system testing during upgrades and patch updates, monitoring vendor SLA performance as per contractual agreements to maintain service quality and minimize downtime, and overseeing daily inquiries related to eTechlog devices and backup devices including Bluetooth printers and accessories. The role also facilitates report requirement gathering across Engineering, Maintenance, Flight Operations, and GCAA stakeholders, conducts eTechlog training sessions for Engineering, Maintenance, Cabin, and Flight Ops users, and provides support for additional digital projects and engineering systems initiatives as required. The role requires hands-on experience in Engineering IT environments with a strong understanding of Flight Operations, Engineering, and Maintenance procedures.

Key responsibilities
- Oversee configuration of the eTechlog system including system configuration, interface setup, workflow configuration, vendor service requests, change requests, and report development.
- Manage user administration activities for eTechlog including user creation, role and access rights setup, e-signatures management, and periodic login reviews.
- Coordinate first-level support for daily operational eTechlog inquiries, investigate and resolve reported bugs from Pilots, Engineering, and Maintenance staff, and ensure uninterrupted 24*7 aircraft operations.
- Coordinate with eTechlog vendors to investigate, replicate, report, and resolve system issues and to implement approved system changes.
- Conduct comprehensive testing of eTechlog during system upgrades and patch updates and provide operational support during implementation.
- Monitor vendor SLA performance in line with signed contracts to ensure service quality, system availability, and reduced downtime.
- Oversee daily inquiries related to eTechlog devices and backup devices including Bluetooth printers and associated accessories.
- Facilitate report requirement gathering with Engineering, Maintenance, Flight Operations, and GCAA stakeholders to support accurate and compliant report development.
- Conduct eTechlog training sessions for key users across Engineering, Maintenance, Cabin, and Flight Operations departments.
- Provide support for additional digital projects and engineering systems initiatives as required.
Experience & skills
- Hold a Bachelor's Degree (3+ years) with 5 to 7 years of hands-on experience working with Engineering IT systems in system administration roles within Engineering IT environments.
- Demonstrate practical experience with eTechlog applications and platforms such as Ultramain and Conduce or MRO systems including AMOS and TRAX.
- Possess a solid understanding of Flight Operations, Engineering, and Maintenance procedures in an aviation operational environment.
- Be fluent in English to support system administration, training delivery, vendor coordination, and operational communication.
