Job description
The Mid Weight Interior Designer role based in Dubai, UAE is an on-site, full-time position for a UK-trained designer with professional experience in luxury residential interiors. The role involves contributing across the full interior design lifecycle, including concept development, design detailing, technical documentation, site coordination, and installation oversight. The designer will prepare mood boards, material palettes, and FF&E selections, produce detailed drawing packages and schedules in collaboration with senior designers, and assist with sourcing furniture, lighting, finishes, and materials suitable for high-end residential projects. Responsibilities also include coordinating with consultants, suppliers, and contractors, attending client meetings and site visits, supporting procurement and sample reviews, and ensuring design intent is maintained throughout the project from concept to completion. This role offers the opportunity to work on luxury residential projects, gain exposure to the full design and delivery lifecycle, and collaborate with senior designers in a professional studio environment.
Required skills
Key responsibilities
- Contribute to all stages of luxury residential interior design projects, including mood boards, concept development, design development, detailed design, and technical documentation
- Prepare design presentations, material palettes, and FF&E selections in coordination with senior designers to ensure alignment with client expectations and design intent
- Produce detailed drawing packages, schedules, and installation documentation, collaborating with senior designers and ensuring accuracy and completeness
- Assist with sourcing and specifying furniture, lighting, finishes, and materials appropriate for high-end luxury interiors, liaising with suppliers and vendors
- Coordinate with consultants, suppliers, and contractors to ensure smooth project delivery and adherence to design specifications and quality standards
- Attend client meetings, design presentations, and site visits to communicate design concepts, gather feedback, and ensure successful project execution
- Support procurement processes, sample reviews, and installation stages to maintain quality, design intent, and timely project completion
- Ensure continuity and consistency of design intent across all project stages from concept through to on-site implementation and handover
Experience & skills
- Proven experience as a Mid-Level Interior Designer within a professional design studio environment
- UK-trained with demonstrable professional experience on UK residential projects
- Experience in luxury residential interiors with exposure to concept design, detailed design, and site/installation stages
- Strong understanding of materials, finishes, and FF&E selection suitable for high-end interiors
- Good technical, organisational, and project management skills to handle multiple design tasks and responsibilities
- Ability to collaborate effectively with senior designers, clients, consultants, suppliers, and contractors
- Attention to detail and capability to maintain design intent throughout the project lifecycle
- Ability to contribute creatively while following guidance from senior designers
