Job description
Northern Trust, a Fortune 500 financial institution with more than 130 years of experience, is seeking a Director of Investment Solutions for its Middle East operations within the Equity group, which manages around $700 billion USD across passive, active, and factor-based equity strategies. This individual will lead the Middle East business, act as the primary client-facing representative in the region, and work across strategic and tactical initiatives. The role involves expanding Northern Trust Asset Management’s (NTAM) footprint, building high-quality client solutions, representing the firm at industry events, collaborating with regional and global teams on strategy and product development, and authoring research and thought leadership publications.

Key responsibilities
- Drive the commercial and strategic agenda of the Middle East Equity business in conjunction with global stakeholders.
- Lead the development of the strategy platform and commercial positioning.
- Increase NTAM’s footprint and thought leadership in the Middle East.
- Build client solutions of the highest quality.
- Represent NTAM’s equity platform in client and prospect meetings, conferences, webinars, and other venues.
- Collaborate with regional Product and Sustainability teams and global Research teams on new strategies and ideas.
- Collaborate with regional Marketing team on messaging and development of collateral materials.
- Co-author or author white papers and research pieces of global and local interest.
Experience & skills
- Extensive experience working with sophisticated institutional investors in the Middle East.
- Ability to build long-term client relationships.
- Strong knowledge of the Middle East institutional investment landscape including asset owners, competitors, and regulations.
- Strong presentation skills with ability to explain complex quantitative concepts to diverse audiences.
- Ability to communicate complex material in a clear, logical, and story-like manner.
- Excellent writing skills with a track record of published articles and whitepapers.
- Deep understanding of local investment issues and regulation with focus on custom integration.
- Passion for solutions thinking.
- CFA, MBA, or PhD are strong pluses.
