Job description
The Resident Engineer at Jumeirah Marsa Al Arab will oversee and manage the daily activities of all Engineering Department supervisors and subordinates, ensuring that property and assets are maintained to the highest order. This role involves implementing and monitoring the Jumeirah Engineering Management System (JEMS), including fire, life, and safety protocols, preventive maintenance, and work order systems. The Resident Engineer will handle grievances, deliver monthly activity reports, and communicate project updates professionally. The position requires strong technical knowledge, leadership skills, and experience in a luxury hotel environment.

Key responsibilities
- Supervise and manage the daily activities of all Engineering Department supervisors and subordinates.
- Ensure the property and assets are maintained through the Jumeirah Engineering Management System (JEMS) and competent personnel.
- Assist in implementing, coordinating, and monitoring JEMS, including the Fire, Life and Safety Matrix, PPM, and Work Order Systems.
- Manage grievances, suggestions, and complaints from colleagues and recommend appropriate actions to the Director of Engineering/Chief Engineer.
- Deliver comprehensive monthly reports to the Director of Engineering/Chief Engineer on monthly activities.
- Communicate project updates to external departments or entities in a professional and timely manner.
Experience & skills
- 8–10 years post-qualification experience in a luxury hotel setting.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or HVAC engineering.
- Advanced software competencies in Microsoft Office programs.
- Up-to-date knowledge of building codes, safety regulations, and energy-efficient practices.
- Proficient knowledge in CMMS Systems, AutoCAD, Energy Management, HVAC systems, Electrical systems, intelligent lighting systems, BMS application.
