Job description
GEMS Core Values sit behind every part of this Math Teacher role at GEMS Millennium School in Sharjah, shaping how the curriculum gets delivered and how students get supported day to day. You plan and deliver quality lessons that motivate middle school students, creating materials and a classroom environment that cater to different learning styles. Curriculum and year plans, attendance records, teaching resources, and assessment plans all need maintaining, with written evidence of planning available on request. Students get taught according to individual needs, using strategies suited to late entering students, ESL learners, low academic ability, and gifted and talented students alike. Work gets set and marked regularly, with academic development, progress, and attainment assessed, recorded, and reported back to families. Media and technology come into daily classroom use, and general student progress and well being get promoted alongside educational guidance. Communication extends beyond the classroom too, whether that means Ministry of Education officials or parents kept informed of student progress. Co-curricular and extra-curricular programs draw on your participation and leadership where appropriate, from inter house competitions to concerts and school plays. Performance Management procedures and Continuing Professional Development (CPD) round out the role, alongside collaboration with colleagues on teaching materials and pastoral arrangements.
