Job description
This role supports project teams and clients by managing cost, scheduling, and risk functions for Woodâs assignments. The Reporting Engineer will be responsible for tracking progress, maintaining project control systems, and supporting reporting and forecasting processes. The engineer will work closely with project accountants, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely reporting, cost tracking, and planning analysis for high-profile clients.

Key responsibilities
- Reporting of planned vs actual progress figures
- Support the collection of weekly progress figures from the project team and 3rd party contractors
- Report against the project critical path
- Assist with reporting of project costs and schedule data
- Contribute to weekly and monthly project cost and planning status reports
- Review and understand the Project Work Breakdown Structure
- Understand relevant documents for plan and schedule preparation
- Monitor cost commitments and expenditures through all project phases
- Liaise with project accounting and time-capture functions to ensure accurate cost capture
- Assist Project Accountants and Billing Specialists with billing and cost-related queries
- Support installation of quantity tracking methods including rules of credit
- Assist in preparing cost and manhour analysis for benchmarking and productivity
- Maintain project S-Curves and Histograms
- Update project Gantt charts and integrate executed changes
- Support resource need monitoring through workload analysis
- Identify slippages and float erosion, escalate as needed
- Participate in change management processes and systems
- Attend client progress meetings
- Assist in preparing proposal schedules and CTR packs
- Participate in cost and schedule risk analysis workshops
- Comply with Project Controls processes and procedures
Experience & skills
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical or business discipline (or equivalent)
- Minimum 5 years of relevant industry experience
- Basic understanding of project management principles
- Basic understanding of cost management, change control, planning, and risk analysis
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Strong numerical and analytical skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team
- Effective organizational and planning skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and shifting priorities
- Good written and oral communication skills
